The latest release in the ever-increasing line of collaborations twixt the Idiot Bastard and Cordelia Records is a compendium comprising multiple renditions of Frank Zappa's Son Of Mr. Green Genes – from his splendid second solo platter, Hot Rats. All of these have been especially recorded for this CD – with one exception (I refer you to the notes below, penned by Mister Roddie Gilliard).

The wondrous contributions by Z.E.R.O. and Inventionis Mater’s can also be heard on their respective long-playing platters, Tolerance and Zapping. And you can hear The Kettering Vampires version here.

The Idiot Bastard Sons Of Mr. Green Genes is available now from The Cordelia Record Shop.

The Kettering Vampires

“This is one of the earliest recordings of the original Muffin Men, during the first European tour in 1991. Directly after this show the band drove 18 hours to play at the 2nd Arf Society gathering, which became Zappanale. Thanks to Zjakki Willams and Guus Veldhuis for making this happen. A ton of solos, the order is: Roddie, Mike K, Bammo, Waco, Naraish, Jumpy. This recording is included for historic purposes only and should not be consumed as it is well past the sell by date.”

For those who care, the Idiot Bastard and all the artists involved do not make one penny from these albums. But Cordelia Records think that, after manufacturing costs and mechanical royalties, they might be able to break even. Within twenty or thirty years.
